NAGAOKA's Technical Expertise

In today's society, where advanced technologies play an essential role, wear-resistant consumable components are indispensable for ensuring the stable operation of machinery. NAGAOKA, renowned for its diamond record styli, leverages its globally recognized technology to produce various consumable components. Our strength lies in specialized processing, including the joining and polishing of high-hardness, difficult-to-machine materials. With years of expertise, we deliver high-quality, durable products for reliable machinery operation.

Core Processing Technologies

NAGAOKA's accumulated expertise in precision diamond processing has expanded beyond record styli to the ultra-fine machining of difficult materials such as cemented carbide and magnet components.
As equipment continues to advance, the demand for greater processing precision is increasing year by year. Drawing on our extensive experience and accumulated expertise, NAGAOKA continues to develop advanced processing technologies to meet the diverse and evolving needs of our customers.

Processing Hard and Brittle Materials

The advantage of being an early pioneer in working with diamond, the hardest material on Earth

Diamond, sapphire, ruby, cemented carbide, and various ceramics are extremely hard and highly wear-resistant, yet also brittle and prone to chipping. Processing these difficult materials requires advanced techniques. Drawing on three decades of experience in the micro-processing of diamond--the hardest material on Earth--NAGAOKA applies its world-class expertise across a broad range of fields. As precision requirements have advanced from one-hundredth of a millimeter to one-thousandth and beyond, we have continued to meet each new demand for greater accuracy and quality.

High-Mix, Low-Volume Production

Experience and expertise drive our production
Meeting diverse needs with in-house machinery

NAGAOKA's advanced technical capabilities are also applied to specialized components such as contact styli for precision measuring instruments. These parts are commonly ordered in quantities of just one or two and are custom-made from drawings supplied by each customer. When necessary, our engineering department designs and builds the required processing machinery in-house, enabling precise responses even to subtle variations in stylus-tip geometry. The combination of accumulated experience, refined craftsmanship, and a flexible organization has established our distinctive high-mix, low-volume production system.

High-Mix, Low-Volume Production

Flexible Production for Reliable Delivery

Putting customer needs first to minimize lead time

One of the reasons NAGAOKA has earned the trust of its customers is our fast and reliable delivery. Since our founding, we have built a production system focused on meeting customer needs and delivery schedules. In manufacturing, even a single missing needle can bring an entire machine to a standstill. We are committed to delivering the products our customers need, exactly when they need them. As specialists in precision processing, we leverage our extensive range of diamond tools and in-house machinery to respond flexibly and swiftly. By maximizing our technical expertise and production capabilities, we pursue the shortest possible lead times.

Our People

Connecting generations, advancing our technology

NAGAOKA's globally recognized technology is built on the skills and expertise of its people. Experienced technicians and younger employees work together, combining knowledge and craftsmanship to create NAGAOKA's unique manufacturing capabilities. Diamond crystals, for example, have microscopic directional properties that cannot be seen with the naked eye. Our skilled technicians sense these characteristics through subtle vibrations and sounds felt through their hands, carefully achieving the precise finish each piece requires. By passing this expertise on to the next generation and continually refining it, NAGAOKA continues to advance its craftsmanship. The accumulation of people and technology is the foundation of our manufacturing.
