To record listeners, NAGAOKA is synonymous with record styli. We take pride in that recognition and in the responsibility that comes with more than half a century of continuous stylus production.
NAGAOKA is the only manufacturer capable of producing every component in the chain from the record groove to the amplifier.
Every stage--from sheet-metal drawing and aluminum-pipe forming to diamond-tip bonding and polishing--is subject to 100% inspection, and each product is individually handcrafted.
Finished assemblies undergo performance testing with oscilloscopes and other inspection equipment, allowing us to consistently provide products of reliable quality.
Replacement Styli for Cartridge Manufacturers
We manufacture and supply replacement styli for products that have already been discontinued by their original manufacturers.
Original MP Cartridges
In addition to supplying record styli, NAGAOKA manufactures its own Moving Permalloy cartridges with replaceable styli.
Their lightweight structure separates the cantilever from the magnet and generates electricity by magnetizing a highly permeable material.
Because the cantilever does not carry a heavy magnet at its rear, it can track the record groove more accurately, with a beneficial effect on sound quality.
Several models are available with different materials and vibration-system configurations.
